SERMON DISCUSSION GUIDE

THIS WEEK’S KEY PASSAGE:   Acts 2:42-47

REMINDERS

Sunday Nights at Magnify
Connecting the Sunday morning worship through the week can be challenging. But Sunday nights at the church are a great way to bridge the two together! Whether it’s hearing from our Missional Local and Global Partners, attending a class or serving with our kids and students, there are so many ways you can connect, serve, and grow with God’s people here to get you ready for the week ahead.
Every human being is made for connection and we are glad that you are here!

At Magnify we hope to be in relationship with each other one-on-one, in small groups, and corporately. Being willing to be known and to know others is a vital part of our discipleship. Our hope is that each person connected to Magnify feels known, seen, and loved.

Please follow the link below to submit your contact refresh, or stop by the Connect Desk in the atrium at your campus on October 4 or 11 to fill out a Contact Refresh Card and get your picture taken.

Circle Up  – Oct 25, between 1st and 2nd service (approx. 10:15a – 10:45a)

This one is especially good for those of us who have been connected in with groups for a while…
This is a time for everyone in our church to have space to get to know a few new names or perhaps catch up with someone you haven’t talked to in a while. Circle Up is our opportunity to help gather the body for coffee, snacks, and good fellowship in between services.
No need to sign-up, just bring a dish to pass and a smile to share!

You can keep up with all our current news and events through our online bulletin.

See the events page on the website for more updates.

TOGETHER IN LIFE

What are some of the first or earliest experiences of church you remember? What kinds of things did you see? What emotions or thoughts were stirring?

TOGETHER IN THE WORD

READ ALOUD:  Acts 2:42-47

KEY QUESTION:  What should a healthy church look like?

QUESTIONS:

  • What were you looking for in a church when you first came to Magnify? If you were raised here, what sorts of things have kept you here?
  • What does it mean to love the church? How can you tell when someone loves the church?
  • What obstacles distract or prevent you from showing love for the church?
  • Of the different activities mentioned in this passage, which are you most drawn to? Which are most difficult for you? Why?
  • Is there anything you feel God nudging you to change about your relationship to church?Slide 12
  • Of the list of “One-Anothers”, which do you tend to gravitate toward? Which challenge you most?

TOGETHER IN PRAYER & ACTION

What is one thing that needs to change in your life for you to become more devoted to Christ and His people?

Who is one person in our church family you could intentionally encourage, serve, or forgive this week?

Take time to pray for the church:

  1. Pray for one another, in your relationship with the church and anything shared.
  2. Pray for Magnify Church as a whole, our relationships and leadership, that Christ would be exalted in our life together.
  3. Pray for the church worldwide, the bride of Christ, as she testifies to what God has done and is doing.
