We want to both celebrate and support families as they raise their kids. We believe parents are the greatest influence in a child’s life and are uniquely positioned to help them know and love God. At the same time, we believe the church has a vital role to play—coming alongside families to pray, encourage, and equip them as they lead their homes with faith and purpose.

Join us for a special time of  preparation, prayer, and public commitment as you dedicate your children to the Lord. This will also be a meaningful moment for our church family to commit to praying for you, walking with you, and supporting your family as you raise children who love and serve God.

There are 4 parts to participating in the Child Dedication Celebration.

1. Prepare: Before signing up, please listen to this Podcast and look over this Homework Assignment to help you prepare for the Child Dedication Celebration. Both things will help you to intentionally parent with the end in mind.
2. Register
3. Submit your Homework Assignment by April 13th at the latest. We desire to share a prayer card with the verse you chose for your child, with our Magnify family at the end of service on the 19th. We will need your homework to be complete so that this card can be prepared in advance. This will allow us to cover your family in prayer in the days and months ahead. 
4. Sunday Morning Recognition and Prayer: Please join us Sunday morning, April 19. We will begin by gathering in the Landing at 8:30am. Then, all participating families will go up on the stage for a time of prayer and recognition during our 9am service. You will simply share: your family names, why you have chosen to dedicate your child, and the Scripture you have chosen for your child. When all families have shared, the host will pray.

1. Where do we go?
   Please come to The Landing at the Rockford Campus at 8:30am, Sunday morning the 19th for a time together as we prepare for the Dedication during the service that morning.
2. What do I do if my child cries?
   We love this question! We expect there will be some crying! Every parent in the room completely understands. This event is designed to include your wiggly child, so don’t worry.
3. How long does it last?
   First service will require you to attend from 8:50 to 9:30.  At that time you are welcome to stay or you may consider taking your child to regular children’s Sunday programming.          
4. Do I really have to do the homework?
   Yes, but don’t be intimidated. The podcast is brief and helpful. The written portion will prepare you for Sunday morning. You will be led through sharing this during the service.
5. Is there an age limit?
   No, we are willing to celebrate your young children of any age with you.
6. Is this the same as infant baptism?
   This event is not infant baptism. We believe that when people are old enough to understand what it means to put their faith and trust in Jesus Christ as their personal Savior, they should have the opportunity to make that choice for themselves. This event is about your commitment as a parent to lead your child into a growing relationship with Jesus Christ so that as your child gets older, you are able to guide them and to help them understand what that means.
