TOGETHER IN THE WORD
Read Ephesians 4:7-16 aloud together.
QUESTIONS
- Paul talks about five spiritual gifts in this passage. Along with these five and others listed in Scripture, where do you think your spiritual gifts lie?
- Let’s talk through some of the common questions we have about spiritual gifts:
– a. Why are spiritual gifts so confusing? Are some fixed and some fluid? Why are the Scriptural lists of gifts different?
– b. How do I find out what my spiritual gifts are?
– c. Do I use those gifts inside or outside the church? Both?
– d. What if I have zero margin to begin using those gifts?
– e. How do I begin using those gifts right now? - How might others describe your gifting? Share with those in the group how you see their gifts showing up.
- Where do you see yourself as mature in your gifts and faith, and where might you need more growth?
- How has using your gifts and talents for Christ changed you?
- If you could use your gifting in your dream “job” within the church, what would that look like?
- Paul says in v. 16, “…held together by every supporting ligament, grows and builds itself up in love, as each part does its work.” How can we show up to do our part in the work?
TOGETHER IN ACTION
- If you haven’t discovered your spiritual gifts yet, take the assessment recommended by Don.
- Also, list the ways that you and those around you might use those gifts in the church and for the church.
TOGETHER IN PRAYER
- Pray that God will give you direction on discovering your spiritual gifts and using them for His glory.
- Ask Him to do the same for the people in your family, your group, and our church.
