TOGETHER IN LIFE
How do you see “spirituality” portrayed in media? What are some common stereotypes or overplayed generalities?
What do you think often gets missed in the secular world regarding spirituality?
TOGETHER IN THE WORD
Read Ephesians 6:10-24 aloud together as a group.
- Read Ephesians 2:1-2.
- How are these two verses (from Ch 6 and Ch 2) connected?
- Through “natural” studies, such as the theory of evolution, our culture has inhibited the belief of the metaphysical or supernatural. The prevalent outlook is what we see is all that exists. Do you struggle with this? Is it hard to believe in what you cannot see?
- Read verse 12. What is the origin of our struggle? How is this our struggle? Why is this our struggle?
- List the pieces of armor we are told to use. There are seven of them. How does each function? Which pieces of armor are defensive and which are offensive?
- Satan has limitations, but his craft can be effective in neutralizing us. What things derail you and your effectiveness for a Christ honoring life?
- “It is finished!” How does this statement from Christ effect our battle we have been asked to fight?
TOGETHER IN ACTION & PRAYER
- Pray for one another’s spiritual wellbeing.
- Consider where you may personally feel vulnerable to Satan’s chief scheme: Lies and Deceit.
- Pray specifically for ways you can ask for help from God and your group in this area.
