TOGETHER IN LIFE

What are 3 specific things you are grateful for today?

TOGETHER IN THE WORD

Read Ephesians 1:15-23 aloud together.

QUESTIONS

  • There is a prayer in every verse. Look at the passage again and list Paul’s prayers for the recipients of his letter.
  • In verse 18, we see the phrase “…that the eyes of your heart be enlightened.” What does this mean?
  • Also in verse 18, Paul prays that we may know hope, riches, and power. Expound on these three things.
  • Read 1 Corinthians 15:12-17. What would it mean to you if Jesus’ bones were found?
  • Don talked about the centrality of death in our existence. He asked two questions:

“What does that say to you as a being with a soul?”

“Why does my entire life have to be ordered and influenced by death?”

  • The skepticism of the resurrection of Jesus led Lee Strobel and Chuck Colson to search for the truth. For them, this was taking their faith from “the head to the heart.”  Have you experienced this process?  What did it look like?
  • Read Philippians 3:10-11. Discuss how this passage describes the process of converting “head knowledge to heart knowledge.”
  • From the same passage, what would it look like to take on the sufferings of Christ?

TOGETHER IN ACTION

Prayerfully consider how God is “enlightening your heart”.

Talk with a friend or as a small group about it.
