Trunk or Treat at Northview

Join us on Wednesday, October 29th for a night of treats and fun for the whole family! Enjoy decorated trunks, plenty of candy, and a safe place to celebrate together. If you’d like to dress up, please wear family-friendly costumes. Invite your friends and neighbors. See the events section on the website for more information.

Family Connect

Young families (with or without kids) are invited to join us on the first Sunday of each month following the first service for about 30 minutes in the Student Center to catch up with families you know, and connect with families you haven’t yet met! This is a great space for kids to run around, have fun and enjoy a light snack. If you are in a different stage of life, for example, a grandparent, we would love for you to come too! What a great gift for the different generations to do life together! See the events section on the website for more information.

TOGETHER IN THE WORD

Read Ephesians 3:14-21 aloud together.

QUESTIONS

In chapters 1-3 of Ephesians, Paul gives us the facts about the gospel—we are sinners; there is nothing we can do to make that right; we need a savior, and that Savior is Jesus. In chapters 4-6, Paul will encourage us, now that we are rooted in Jesus’ love, to go and do. Our verses today are the transition from “know” to “go.”

Key statement: As we experience the presence and love of Christ, we experience true worship.

  1. What would this look like in your life?
  2. In verses 14-16, Paul prays to the Father. What do these verses tell you about the Father?
  3. Read verse 17 and John 15:5. Talk about the terms “dwell” and “abide” and how they go together.
  4. Read verses 17b-19 in The Message paraphrase. This is the pinnacle of Paul’s prayer! Discuss how this may look in your life.
  5. What lies do you struggle with that keep you from “knowing the love of Christ that surpasses knowledge?”
  6. In verses 20-21, Paul moves from praying to worship and praise! What are the implications of God doing far more abundantly than all we ask or think? Have you experienced this?
  7. Noah leaves us with this question: What gets in your way of really experiencing God’s love?

TOGETHER IN PRAYER & ACTION

  • Ask God to help you KNOW His love in deeper and deeper ways.
  • Confess to someone you trust any lies that limit you from knowing God’s love.
  • Take time to let God’s love overwhelm you and respond to Him in worship.
