TOGETHER IN LIFE
What’s the silliest thing you remember ever complaining about? What prompted it and how did it go?
TOGETHER IN THE WORD
Read Matthew 7:1–12 aloud together.
KEY QUESTION: How has judgmental-ism showed itself in your life?
QUESTIONS
- When have you judged someone’s actions, only to discover new information that caused the behavior you didn’t like?
- Louie talked about how judgmentalism brings down those being judged and those doing the judging. How have you seen this happen in your life?
- When have you been your own worst enemy?
- How does the analogy of splinter and plank in the eye apply to judgmentalism?
- When are you allowed to judge? Why and how?
- Think honestly about how you judge others. Do you want to be judged that same way? Why or why not?
- What does this statement by Louie mean to you: “The greatest day of your life is the day your face yourself?”
TOGETHER IN PRAYER & ACTION
- Ask God to show you how you judge others.
- What steps will you take to stop judging others?
- How do you judge yourself, and how can you stop this judging?
- Pray for clear eyes to discern how judgmentalism impacts you and those around you.
