TOGETHER IN LIFE
What is one of your favorite childhood memories of the Easter season?
TOGETHER IN THE WORD
Read Luke 23:32-38
KEY QUESTION: How have we been one-dimensional in our beliefs?
QUESTIONS
“FORGIVE” – Webster’s definition: to give up resentment of or claim to requital; to grant relief from payment of debt.
- Who was Jesus asking the Father to forgive?
- Are we included in that particular prayer?
- What are the results of Jesus extending forgiveness to us?
“THEM”
- Who is “them”?
- Does it include you and me?
- Would you have been an accuser/executioner?
“THEY KNOW NOT WHAT THEY DO”
- What is it they don’t know?
CHRIST OUR EXAMPLE
- Read Matthew 18:21-22
- Is forgiveness optional?
- What kind of person can forgive over and over and over?
TOGETHER IN PRAYER & ACTION
Josh stated it is our responsibility to Adore Him for his humility, perseverance and consistent nature; to Accept Him as Savior; and, to Take Up Our Cross and follow His example.
Read Matthew 18:23-35
- How does this parable help us to reveal our character when it comes to forgiving?
Because sin is part of who we are, we have to forgive:
- Even when it’s not fair.
- In humility and gratitude.
- Even if the other person hasn’t asked for it or isn’t sorry for what they did.
- No matter how much it hurts
- From the heart.
- Even if we don’t feel like it.
Do you have a reaction to any of these statements?
Can you pray God’s blessing on the person who has hurt you?
