SMALL GROUP DISCUSSION GUIDE

REMINDERS

Leadership Development Class (Sunday Nights) Please join us on Sunday nights for the LDC! Our goal is that all our leaders would be connected into trainings at least 4 times a year to keep sharp and to help sharpen others. Tonight we continue our series on being a CATCH: five qualities of an ideal small group leader. For questions or suggestions on class topics, please reach out to Trent Heaton ([email protected]).

TOGETHER IN LIFE

When thinking about the upcoming holidays, would you rather have a fast forward, pause, or rewind button on the next month? Are you excited and want to skip ahead or are you dreading it and want to skip over, etc. Why?

TOGETHER IN THE WORD

THIS WEEK’S KEY PASSAGE: Luke 19:41-44

Note: We encourage you to read the entire text together as a group out loud.

QUESTIONS

  • How closely have you been following the news on the Israel-Hammas war?
  • On a scale of 1-10, how much would you say the current events in Israel are on your mind? (1 being very little, 10 being on your mind constantly)
  • What was most helpful to you about Matt’s message on Israel?
  • Has anyone in the group seen or experienced an anti-Semitic situation? How did it make you feel? How did you respond? If not anti-Semitic, maybe another form of racism?
  • Similar to the Israelites in the Old Testament, can you recall a time when you turned away from God, but God did not give up on you? If so, please share with the group.
  • Matt talked how some have said that Israel should respond to Hamas, “with no mercy.” What situations are you tempted to respond with “no mercy?”
  • Is there someone in your life that you need to share Christ with?

TOGETHER IN PRAYER

Please spend some time together praying for our missionaries in Israel and Lebanon.

  • Ben and Celest Mills have been serving the Peniel Fellowship of Tiberias for over 30 years, specifically through the Peniel Learning Center, the first Messianic elementary school in Israel.
  • Hikmat and Krista Kashouh. Hikmat is the senior pastor of Resurrection Church Beirut in Beirut Lebanon.
  • Elie and Mireille Haddad. Elis is president of Arab Baptist Theological Seminary in Lebanon.

Pray for their families, that the violence comes to a just end and most of all that Jesus would be made known because of their influences.
