Parenting and shame. Yes. Shame. You read that correctly. There is no typo. {Insert cringe here.} We get it. We don’t talk about shame so we can avoid feeling shame, right?

So why would we hold a two week event for parents and grandparents and caregivers and teachers and coaches on how shame may be coloring their relationships with children and teens they love? Join us this April 21 and 28 for conversation on how shame is a primary emotional weapon evil uses to corrupt our relationship with God and others, in particular our children. And because shame’s power is subtle in its silence we want to take extra time to gently take a look at where it may be hiding.

As a result of our time together we hope all people who have children and teens in their lives walk away with a greater understanding of where shame lives in their lives, can see ways it is corrupting the relationship with those children and teens and grow in affection of the better story – being known and loved by God and his community.

Week one will be spent hearing from a panel of people who have wrestled well with their shame. Week two will be spent answering your questions on this important topic.
