GO – Prayer and Preparation (Northview Campus)

Don Pearson  |   Northview Campus   |   Sept. 27, 2026

SERMON DISCUSSION GUIDE

THIS WEEK’S KEY PASSAGE:   Acts 1:12-26

TOGETHER IN LIFE

  • Take time to meditate on what it means for Jesus to be on His throne and the Spirit to be among us. Share your reflections with one another.
  • Pray for one another about any big events or decisions on the horizon.
  • Remember that prayer is a gift and an invitation, not a guilt trip or an inconvenience. The God of the universe loves you and His ears are always open to His children. Whatever lies ahead, He is with you, and He cares.

TOGETHER IN THE WORD

READ ALOUD:  Acts 1:12-26

KEY QUESTION:  How do you prepare for the things that matter?

QUESTIONS:

  • How is your prayer life right now? Does it feel healthy or weak? Why?
  • What obstacles to prayer do you personally encounter most often: lack of faith, comparison, or distraction?
  • What does it look like to trust God’s sovereignty? On a scale of 1-to-10, how strong has your trust in Him been the past week?
  • When it comes to big decisions, do you tend to pray a lot, prepare a lot, both, or neither? Why do you think that is?
  • What’s one thing you can do to grow in whichever area (prayer or preparation) is weaker?
