September 8-13: Calling all auto mechanics! – Churches across Grand Rapids will unite to serve our city with love and practical action in Bless the City 2025. This year, we’re focusing our efforts on the Madison Square neighborhood, coming alongside our neighbors to be a tangible expression of God’s goodness and grace.

We’re currently seeking auto mechanics from within our congregation who would be willing to donate their time and skills for a couple hours during that week. Whether it’s oil changes, brake checks, or minor fixes, this kind of support could be life-changing for families struggling to maintain reliable transportation. Interested? Contact Kim Fedrigo.

GLOBAL PARTNERS AROUND THE WORLD

Welcome back Katie Hunter!

For the last 4 years, Katie has served faithfully in Ecuador with Jungle Kids for Christ. Teaching, loving and serving, Katie was an extension of Magnify a continent away. We are thankful for her, for her faithfulness and testimony to God’s glory in another place, and look forward to now having her in our midst. Please join us in praising God for what He has done and continuing to pray for Katie in this transition to life in the US.

Mel Boerema – Canada

Life is full. The baptism that meant a lot this year to me is the privilege I had to baptize my little brother (by Native adoption). This past Fall and Spring we had our first year of “Piikani Lighthouse Bible School” a non accredited Bible School. Our course for September to January was Genesis, with 4 people completing the course. From January to June the course was Matthew, with 7 people completing and in September the course will be Acts. In January we start Romans, and we have 9 people enrolled.

Pastor Doug IronShirt has been advertising our Bible School on the Blood Reserve, also part of the Blackfoot confederation. Though none have attended the courses yet, it would be a 40 to 60 minute drive, if there is interest.

On a personal note, in February I had what they call a heart incident. Doctors have decided I have a blockage on the left side of my heart that needs to be cleared up. I am waiting for the hospital to call. I’m restricted in activities that push my body, like biking or hiking in the mountains, but I still spend a lot of time counseling, praying with people, and teaching the Bible. Pray for the Bible School and pray that the doctors get me in and care for the blockage.
