Interim and Next Lead Pastor Timeline

Magnify Family Updates - Posted March 6th, 2025

Thank you for praying and for actively engaging over the last few weeks in this new format. On Sunday, March 23 we will be having a meeting from 7:15-8:15pm at the Rockford Campus Auditorium to find out more about the process we are in.

There are two common questions that we would also like to answer for our church family.

What is the timeline for determining the profile for our next lead pastor?

The church board has been working diligently on developing the profile for our next lead pastor. This process has involved many meetings and conversations with our consultants, pastors, staff, board, and our congregational transition team. While we are not able to specify a timeline yet, we will share those details as they become clearer. Good progress is being made!

Has Don Denyes committed to a certain amount of time or has he committed indefinitely?

Don has graciously committed to shepherding us through this transition and understands that a process like this takes time. There is no specific time limit or need for such a limit currently. He and his wife Nancy are enjoying the new connections at Magnify, and the opportunity to serve us during this season. We remain grateful for Don’s teaching and work with our staff. We are grateful for his wisdom and leadership as we continue to navigate this transition.

Prayer Focus:
Please pray for the search committee which includes our deacons, pastors and the congregational transition team. Pray for patience. Pray that the committee would wait upon God’s timing. Pray that they will have the mind of Christ and unity.

‘Count it all joy, my brothers, when you meet trials of various kinds, for you know that the testing of your faith produces steadfastness. And let steadfastness have its full effect, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing. If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask God, who gives generously to all without reproach, and it will be given him.’ James 1:2-5
