Dear Church Family,
Thank you for faithfully praying for the important process of selecting our next Lead Pastor. We believe God has used those prayers to bring to light something we needed to know.
This week, we discovered important information about Jonathan Dodson that he did not disclose during the interview process. Building trust is central to the interview and candidating process, and Jonathan’s failure to disclose this information has compromised that trust. After prayerful consideration, the deacons, pastors, and CTT have together decided to withdraw Jonathan’s nomination. All scheduled events related to Jonathan’s candidacy have been cancelled.
We know this news brings disappointment, and we are sorry for the sudden change. This has been a long process, and many of us have come to deeply appreciate Jonathan’s pastoral heart and his unique gift for ministering to people amid the trials and burdens of life. We pray for God’s best for Jonathan and Robie in their ongoing work of discipleship, and we are confident He will continue to use them to serve the church of Jesus Christ.
We want to assure you that our search remains active. We currently have other strong candidates and are moving forward with renewed confidence that God will provide all we need in His perfect timing.
What a gift it is to serve a God who is good and sovereign. We can trust Him fully and will continue to seek His guidance as we move forward in the search for our next Lead Pastor. Please continue to pray for our church family as we lean into the promises of 2 Corinthians 9:8 “And God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that having all sufficiency in all things at all times, you may abound in every good work.”
We take great comfort in knowing that our Chief Shepherd, Jesus Christ, will continue to faithfully lead us through this season.
In Christ,
Your Pastors, Deacons, and Congregational Transition Team
