TOGETHER IN LIFE
Major moments in life can radically change your future very suddenly.
What moments do you remember coming suddenly in your life that had a major impact?
What happened? What changed?
TOGETHER IN THE WORD
READ ALOUD: Acts 2:1-21
KEY QUESTION: How do you prepare for the things that matter?
QUESTIONS:
- God delights in using the ordinary to accomplish His great works… What feels average and ordinary, but is able to accomplish great things?
- God breaks barriers to reach everyone…What barriers did God have to break down to rescue you? How might God use your rescue to help someone else in theirs?
- What do you think it must’ve felt like to be in those early days after Christ’s ascension and before the coming of the Holy Spirit?
- How does the coming of the Spirit change everything?
- The work of the Spirit of God is to reveal the person and work of Jesus – what does this mean? What might this look like?
- Notes on “Filling with the Spirit”…
- As you consider these truths, what comes to mind? Is anything encouraging or hope-inspiring to you? Anything confusing or challenging?
- The Last Days are now. What do you recall from Scripture that speaks of “the end times” or “the last days” or “in that day”?
- If you need support, try searching on a site such as biblegateway.com, blueletterbible.org, or stepbible.org.
- “Everyone who calls upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.” (Acts 2:21)
- What does this look like in real-life?
- Notes on “How We Miss Out on The Spirit’s Work”…
- How do you think of dependence upon the Lord’s Spirit? What do you think would change in your life if you were to actively work against these things?
TOGETHER IN PRAYER & ACTION
Stop waiting to feel qualified before sharing what Jesus has done.
Pray daily for 3 people: 1-3-1 (one believer praying for 3 lost sheep to come to know the one true God)
Say something specific about Jesus to one person this week.
Open our eyes: Ask God to help us treasure the wonder of His GIFT – promised presence.
Open our hearts: Ask God to reveal where we may be resisting His Spirit.
Ignite our passion: Ask God for courage to live and speak in light of the POWER of His Spirit.
