DESCRIPTION:1829 Encounter Glacier Wilderness Trip! \nHow do you put into words the majesty of the Rocky Mountains\, the beauty of a starlit night\, or the feeling of being more fully alive having just caught a glimpse of a grizzly or a wolf? Wonder! It is the great privilege of our 1829 family to discover and recover the wonder of God through His awesome creation this summer and we hope you will consider joining us. \nThe Glacier trip is a backpacking trip that will explore and experience the beauty of the Bob Marshall Wilderness (just south of Glacier National Park) for 5 days and finish the trip staying 2 nights in Glacier National Park. SUMMARY:Parent Connect - Parenting and Shame
DESCRIPTION:Parenting and shame. Yes. Shame. You read that correctly. There is no typo. {Insert cringe here.} We get it. We don’t talk about shame so we can avoid feeling shame\, right? \nSo why would we hold a two week event for parents and grandparents and caregivers and teachers and coaches on how shame may be coloring their relationships with children and teens they love? Join us this April 21 and 28 for conversation on how shame is a primary emotional weapon evil uses to corrupt our relationship with God and others\, in particular our children. And because shame’s power is subtle in its silence we want to take extra time to gently take a look at where it may be hiding. \nAs a result of our time together we hope all people who have children and teens in their lives walk away with a greater understanding of where shame lives in their lives\, can see ways it is corrupting the relationship with those children and teens and grow in affection of the better story – being known and loved by God and his community. \nWeek one will be spent hearing from a panel of people who have wrestled well with their shame.
